Hale Koa Hotel (Military Only)
2055 Kalia Rd, Honolulu, Aiea,
It had a great bar about a year and a half ago and it still had a great bar this year. The bossmen took a couple of us there to unwind. Great place to chill and mingle. Great Mai Tai's! We were right on the beach and there was a DJ playin some great music.

Harbor Shores Apartment Hotel
98-145 Lipoa Pl, Aiea, Aiea,
Harbor Shores Apartments was listed online as a haven for business travelers, and the only hotel on Pear Harbor. It was neither! This place was a scam. The rooms were dirty, reeked of cigarette smoke, the furniture was ancient (and I don't mean antique), and the telephone was taped together with duct tape. The bedding was old (the bedspread looked like a horse blanket), and the chairs around the kitchen table had cigarette burns in them. My husband and I stayed in our room for about 10 minutes, decided we couldn't really live in the room for 2 days. The owner charged us $52.50 to leave, even though we never brought our luggage up to the room. Please stay away from this place. It was totally misleading from the information received online. Don't be misled! STAY AWAY!

Service was great, we were met at the entrance with flowers and greetings. The room was pretty and the bed was very comfortable. Right outside you step onto Wikiki Beach, what a site. The experience was amazing, we would do it again in a heartbeat.

Queen Kapiolani Hotel
150 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, Aiea,
For a hotel that's half a block from the beach, you're getting a lot for your money! It's across from the zoo, so we had an awesome view of the mountains AND the ocean. The room was a little dated, but how much time do you actually spend there? The bus runs right by on the corner and will take you just about anywhere you'd want to go. Beats driving in traffic yourself. There's an Expedia rep in the lobby to help book tours, etc. Our room was cleaned every day and beds made. They do charge for using the coffee packets in the room, but it's a good excuse to buy some Kona coffee instead. It would've been nice to get internet connection, but there's an internet cafe right down the street to check in early for departing flight.
